Here are some of the extremely urgent tasks I accomplished today:
I helped several social work faculty problem-solve emergent issues (and checked in with everyone who had their first class today).
I did some more cleaning and organizing in my office (it’s a big job, but I’m starting to make a dent through shredding a bunch of old papers, if nothing else).
I took a lovely nap with the dogs.
I spent several hours writing, mostly poetry.
I started a new thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle because the one I worked on this weekend was bothering my brain. But I got the entire outside done for the new one, so that’s progress.
I finished binging the most recent season of From so that I could cancel MGM+ (Kellie and I had watched the first episode of this season before she died, so it took me a long time to feel okay with watching the last nine without her).
I cancelled MGM+.
I cooked and ate several meals.
I bought several new albums and spent time listening to them while trying to read.
I took out the trash for tomorrow.
I spent an appropriate amount of time mourning Dolly Parton, a true legend.
I said a word of thanks that Kellie didn’t have to be here to see Dolly die, because she would have been so, so devastated. As should we all be.
I think that’s a lot to get done in one day, and if you don’t agree, that’s okay too.
That’s it for today. Have a great night, and get some rest. That’s my plan as well.
Talk to you soon,
Matt
