Gotta Catch 'Em All
We went on a pilgrimage today. Not to some religious site, but to a place that has a lot of history and a lot of memories for Kellie and I. If you haven’t spent any time out on Presque Isle near Erie PA, I would highly recommend it. Kellie and I really enjoyed getting special hot dogs and bringing the dogs out to the park and walking, sitting and watching the lake and the geese, and just feeling the breeze on our faces under the trees. Like I said, it was a very special place for us over many, many years.
I scattered some of her ashes there today, because Kellie loved being there so much. It felt like the right thing to do.
It was Coco’s first time on a major outing, and she was NOT well-behaved when we tried to make her sit anywhere besides my lap in the driver’s seat. But all three dogs did great when we got there. They also got to eat (plain) hot dogs as well, which was a very special treat for our girls.
There are always going to be places that hold memories for me, and that’s not always a bad or sad thing. My dad asked me today if Kellie’s fondness for the place made it harder or easier to visit Presque Isle, and I honestly think it’s neither. It definitely held a reverent feel for me, like a holy place, because of all the memories. So maybe it’s a religious site for me after all.
Just a short one for today. I’m just feeling my feelings tonight. Not good or bad ones, just feelings.
XOXO,
Matt
