Worth Way More Than a Thousand Words
The good thing about having a cloud server of your own is that you can store all your stuff there. The bad thing, however, about having a cloud server of your own is that it makes you want to store all your stuff there.
If you know me, you know I love projects. And one of my latest projects is scanning the thousands of pictures from our basement (including plenty that pre-date our relationship). I want them to be available for me and other people to look at, not just sitting in boxes and bins and waiting for me to die so someone can throw them away.
Part of that project is making it so folks who may want to view some of these photos have the ability to do so as well, not just hoarding them for myself.
Today’s task was setting up my fancy new photo scanner and software and picking 250 or so photos to mess with as a trial run. It went great!
So great, in fact, that I’m going to share some choice shots from that batch with y’all. Kellie, our dear friend Lindsay, and others from her school went on a trip to New York City in 1995. I’m assuming it must have been her senior trip, though I’m not positive about that. She talked about that trip to NYC for her whole life.
I’m posting a link below for you to see the hundred or so shots from that NYC trip here for anyone who’d like to check them out. If you don’t want to, don’t!
Here's the link, if you're interested.
And here are some of my favorite photos I found today. They each made me smile, laugh, cry, or all three.

Donna brought me lunch today, and we spent a couple of hours talking about how things are going for me, now that I’m much more on my own here at home. It was a great conversation, and I really treasure the fact that I have friends who want to hear about what’s going on in my head (beyond the things I post here each day).
I taught a class this evening, and that was great as well.
It was a very quiet day, and also a very hot one, so we stayed inside (as you should all be doing too).
That’s it for tonight.
Hugs,
Matt
